Coolant Flush Cost in UAE 2026: Radiator Flush and Antifreeze Replacement Price Guide

3 Jul 2026 2 min read

Coolant flush and replacement is one of the most critical — and most frequently skipped — maintenance tasks for UAE car owners. With ambient temperatures regularly exceeding 45°C and engine compartment temperatures even higher, your cooling system works harder in UAE than almost anywhere else in the world. This guide covers coolant flush costs and why it matters so much in UAE conditions in 2026.

Why Coolant Flush Is Critical in UAE

Engine coolant degrades over time. Its corrosion inhibitors become depleted, the pH shifts, and it becomes acidic. In UAE heat, this process accelerates significantly:

  • Radiator corrosion: Acidic coolant corrodes aluminium radiators and cylinder heads much faster in hot environments, leading to leaks and expensive failures.
  • Water pump failure: Impeller cavitation from degraded coolant is a leading cause of water pump failure in UAE. A failed water pump means immediate overheating risk.
  • Head gasket damage: Overheating — even a single severe episode — can blow a head gasket. Head gasket repair costs AED 2,000–8,000+. A coolant flush costs AED 150–450. The maths is clear.

Coolant Types in UAE

OAT (Organic Acid Technology): Modern long-life coolant in red, orange, or pink. Used in most cars from 2000 onwards. Service interval: 2–5 years depending on brand.

HOAT (Hybrid OAT): Yellow or orange. Used in some European and American vehicles. Do not confuse with OAT.

IAT (Inorganic Additive Technology): Traditional green coolant. Used in older vehicles. Service interval: every 2 years or 40,000 km.

Never mix coolant types unless explicitly stated as compatible. Mixing can cause gelling, which blocks coolant passages and causes rapid overheating.

Signs Your Coolant Needs Changing

  • Coolant is dark brown or rusty rather than clear red, green, or orange
  • White crusty deposits around the radiator cap or overflow tank
  • Temperature gauge running higher than normal in UAE summer
  • Sweet-smelling exhaust fumes (coolant burning in engine)
  • More than 2 years since last coolant change
